Aluminium is today used in high-rise buildings and skyscrapers because of its durability, high strength-to-weight ratio, design flexibility and contributions to energy savings. The first building in which Aluminium was widely used in construction was the Empire State Building, built in 1931in New York – and the tallest building in the world until 1970.
